LESSON 102 · 2 MIN READ

Get set up, and draw your starting line

Set up Search Console and analytics, record a clear baseline, and keep a change log for your 100-day SEO plan.

Before changing pages, record where the site stands. A baseline makes it possible to distinguish a useful change from a good-looking chart.

Set up Search Console

Use a property you are authorised to access. Check that the important pages are indexed, review the available performance data, and note the property and filters used. Follow the Search Console setup guide if this is new to you.

Check analytics

Confirm that your analytics setup records the actions that matter to the business. Note the reporting period, traffic sources, landing pages, and conversion definitions. Check for tracking changes before comparing periods.

Save your baseline

Record impressions, clicks, average position, and relevant business outcomes. Save the report exports alongside the date range and filters. Record identifiable AI referral traffic separately; missing referrer information is not proof that no AI tools mentioned your site.

Start a change log

Keep a simple sheet with the date, URL, change, reason, and result to review. Use the same definitions at your day-30, day-60, and day-100 reviews, and consider seasonality when interpreting changes.

You can run the plan directly in Search Console and your analytics tool. If you want help exploring exports, use the SEO analysis workflow.

One step closer.
